Connecting young European talents!

This is the motto of EMCY and of all our member competitions and activities.

The European Parliament has adopted very recently the Preparatory Action "Music Moves Europe: Boosting European music diversity and talent" which the European Commission will start to implement in 2018. We welcome this important decision for the music field in Europe and this encourages us to continue our actions for our musical youth.

From 24th to 26th November 2017, the national EMCY member competition will be connected in Malaga for a conference in the framework of the Erasmus+ project INTER-NATIONAL net_works in order to initiate new collaborations and partnerships and a Future lab: Making competitions fit for the future (chances and challenges for competitions).

I am looking forward to a fruitful discussion and can also announce the launch by our Dutch partner and in the frame work of GIVE MUSIC A FUTURE of "Surprising Stars", an online competition. It is directed to musicians (under 26 years) from all over Europe and asks to make a YouTube movie that surprises! The competitors may play everything except the classical repertoire or bring the classical repertoire in a new format.  Jazz, improvisation, mixing different arts, playing with a DJ, music mixes with words, creative presentations etc. are welcome!

Also I welcome in our EMCY Team our new European Volunteer Giovanna Bottino and Parida Walida which will replace our secretary general for some months.

With our dynamic team and all the input of our board and members we stay tuned and will launch this month the YouTube Chanel of EMCY. So Stay tune with the #EMCYSound’’.
